Celtic Manor invest for the future
The Celtic Manor Resort, which is preparing to host the 2010 Ryder Cup, has recently invested in developing their coaching facilities by introducing technology to complement their experienced PGA professionals. They now boast one of the finest equipped golf academies in Europe, possessing all three of MIA Sports Technology’s principal products and they have recently begun utilising our latest feature – Branded Academies for the V1 Pro video analysis software.
There are several swing studios at Celtic Manor using technology to analyse a golfer’s swing. V1 Pro is available in all of these studios, giving their coaching professionals the ability to take detailed images of a player’s swing, allowing for re-assessment of the video, instant comparison to other videos and further visual editing of the video to help a player more clearly see where improvements can be made.
Celtic Manor has also now invested in its own Branded Academy. This allows for the professionals to create video lessons and upload these to the internet for a student to view anywhere or access on a Smartphone. The lessons can be created by recording dialogue over prepared video segments, utilising both videos of the player and ready-made drills for the issue they may wish to raise with the player. These “internet-lessons” are easy to edit or mass-produce to send the same lesson to several players. This can be particularly useful as the putting season approaches for the coaching staff to quickly send out a quick drill online to all their players and encourage people to attend a more personalised class. Alternatively, players can record themselves and send this video to their coach, who can then analyse this video and email back a detailed lesson.
FlightScope® and SAM PuttLab also give their swing and putting studios full technological functionality for club analysis. Please view our website for more detailed information on each of these products or contact us directly at sales@miasportstechnology.com
